About Qik Joe Polar Express Ice Melt Flakes

Qik Joe Polar Express Ice Melt Flakes are a blended ice melter that combines melting ingredients to balance speed, cold-weather performance and cost for everyday snow and ice control.

Why Customers Choose Qik Joe Polar Express Ice Melt Flakes

  • Blended Formula: Combines ingredients for a balance of speed and value.
  • Everyday Winter Use: Made for driveways, sidewalks, steps and entrances.
  • Starts on Contact: Begins working as soon as it lands on ice and snow.
  • Easy to Spread: Spread by hand or with a broadcast or drop spreader.

How It Works

The blend dissolves into a brine that lowers the freezing point of water and loosens ice from the pavement so it can be cleared away.

How to Use Qik Joe Polar Express Ice Melt Flakes

  4. Before a storm, pre-treat walkways and steps with a light application to help keep ice from bonding.

Questions about this product

Ask a question ›
What is a blended ice melt?
A blend combines more than one melting ingredient to balance speed, cold-weather performance and cost. It dissolves into a brine that loosens ice from the pavement so you can clear it away.
Can I use it on new concrete?
Do not use any deicer on concrete less than one year old, or on concrete that is cracked, spalled or poorly sealed. On sound, cured concrete, apply a thin, even coat and sweep up leftovers.
How much ice melt do I need per square foot?
Follow the application rate on the package. A thin, even layer is enough; heavy piles waste product and do not melt faster.
Should I put ice melt down before it snows?
Yes. A light application on walkways and steps before a storm helps keep ice from bonding to the pavement. Shovel once the snow falls, then touch up bare spots.
Will ice melt kill my grass?
Keep ice melt on paved surfaces and sweep leftover granules off lawn edges and garden beds once surfaces are dry. Heavy buildup of any deicer can stress grass and plants.
How do I store it?
Keep it sealed in a cool, dry place. Ice melters pull moisture from the air and can clump if left open.
What sizes are available?
Size: 20 lb Bag, 50 lb Bag. The price shown is per 20 lb bag unless you pick another option.
When will it ship?
In-stock orders placed before 2:00 PM Eastern on a business day ship the same day from our Williamstown, New Jersey warehouse. Orders placed after the cut-off, on weekends or on holidays ship the next business day. Tracking is emailed as soon as it leaves. The box above the Add to cart button shows the live countdown and an arrival estimate for your ZIP.
Can I buy by the pallet?
Yes. Pallets ship by LTL freight and the rate depends on your delivery address, so we quote it rather than guess. The product price is the same price everyone pays, whether you buy one pail or a pallet; only the freight is quoted. Request a freight quote and we will come back with a delivered price.
Can I pick up at the warehouse?
Yes, by arrangement at our Williamstown, New Jersey warehouse, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM to noon, Eastern. Contact us first so the warehouse can pull your order.
Can I return it?
Unused, unopened product in its original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Opened bags and pails cannot be returned. Read the full return policy.
