Why Vaporizer Calcium Chloride Pellet Ice Melt?

Vaporizer Calcium Chloride Pellets give off heat as they dissolve and keep melting when rock salt slows down.

Vaporizer Calcium Chloride Pellet Ice Melt is a calcium chloride ice melter made for deep winter cold. Calcium chloride pulls moisture from the air to start forming brine quickly and gives off heat as it dissolves, so it keeps working when plain rock salt slows down.

About Vaporizer Calcium Chloride Pellet Ice Melt

Vaporizer Calcium Chloride Pellet Ice Melt is a calcium chloride ice melter made for deep winter cold. Calcium chloride pulls moisture from the air to start forming brine quickly and gives off heat as it dissolves, so it keeps working when plain rock salt slows down.

Why Customers Choose Vaporizer Calcium Chloride Pellet Ice Melt

  • Extreme-Cold Performance: Keeps melting at temperatures where rock salt slows down.
  • Heat Releasing: Gives off heat as it dissolves to speed up melting.
  • Fast Brine: Pulls moisture from the air to start working quickly.
  • Goes Further: A light, even application covers a lot of ground.

How It Works

Calcium chloride is hygroscopic: it attracts moisture, dissolves into a strong brine and releases heat as it does. That brine works down through the ice and breaks its bond with the pavement.

How to Use Vaporizer Calcium Chloride Pellet Ice Melt

  1. Shovel or plow loose snow first so the melter can reach the ice underneath.

  4. Before a storm, pre-treat walkways and steps with a light application to help keep ice from bonding.

Questions about this product

Ask a question ›
Is calcium chloride bad for concrete?
Do not use calcium chloride or any deicer on concrete less than one year old, or on concrete that is cracked, spalled or poorly sealed. Use a light, even coat and follow the package directions.
Calcium chloride vs rock salt: which is better?
Calcium chloride releases heat and keeps melting in deep cold when rock salt slows down. Rock salt costs less per pound for large areas in milder weather.
What temperature does calcium chloride work to?
Check the package for the rated temperature. Calcium chloride is made for deep winter cold and keeps working where plain rock salt slows down.
Pellets or flakes: which calcium chloride is better?
Both melt the same way. Pellets like these spread evenly by hand or with a broadcast or drop spreader.
Is calcium chloride safe for pets?
Keep the product away from pets and children and wipe paws after walks. For areas pets use often, consider a pet-friendlier ice melt.
How much should I use?
A light, even application covers a lot of ground. Follow the rate on the package; more is not better.
What sizes are available?
Size: 9 lb Jug, 20 lb Bag. The price shown is per 9 lb jug unless you pick another option.
When will it ship?
In-stock orders placed before 2:00 PM Eastern on a business day ship the same day from our Williamstown, New Jersey warehouse. Orders placed after the cut-off, on weekends or on holidays ship the next business day. Tracking is emailed as soon as it leaves. The box above the Add to cart button shows the live countdown and an arrival estimate for your ZIP.
Can I buy by the pallet?
Yes. Pallets ship by LTL freight and the rate depends on your delivery address, so we quote it rather than guess. The product price is the same price everyone pays, whether you buy one pail or a pallet; only the freight is quoted. Request a freight quote and we will come back with a delivered price.
Can I pick up at the warehouse?
Yes, by arrangement at our Williamstown, New Jersey warehouse, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM to noon, Eastern. Contact us first so the warehouse can pull your order.
