  2. Spread a thin, even layer by hand scoop or with a broadcast or drop spreader. More is not better: a light, uniform coat works faster and wastes less.
  3. Give it a few minutes to break the bond between the ice and the pavement, then shovel away the loosened slush.
  4. Before a storm, pre-treat walkways and steps with a light application to help keep ice from bonding.
  5. Sweep up leftover granules once surfaces are dry so they are not tracked indoors.

What is a blended ice melt?
A blend combines more than one melting ingredient to balance speed, cold-weather performance and cost. It dissolves into a brine that loosens ice from the pavement so you can clear it away.
Can I use it on new concrete?
Do not use any deicer on concrete less than one year old, or on concrete that is cracked, spalled or poorly sealed. On sound, cured concrete, apply a thin, even coat and sweep up leftovers.
How much ice melt do I need per square foot?
Follow the application rate on the package. A thin, even layer is enough; heavy piles waste product and do not melt faster.
Should I put ice melt down before it snows?
Yes. A light application on walkways and steps before a storm helps keep ice from bonding to the pavement. Shovel once the snow falls, then touch up bare spots.
Will ice melt kill my grass?
Keep ice melt on paved surfaces and sweep leftover granules off lawn edges and garden beds once surfaces are dry. Heavy buildup of any deicer can stress grass and plants.
How do I store it?
Keep it sealed in a cool, dry place. Ice melters pull moisture from the air and can clump if left open.
Which colors does it come in?
2 options: White, Blue. The color is a coating on the granules so you can see where you have spread and avoid over-applying. The melting performance is the same whichever color you pick.

Yes. Pallets ship by LTL freight and the rate depends on your delivery address, so we quote it rather than guess. Can I pick up at the warehouse?
Yes, by arrangement at our Williamstown, New Jersey warehouse, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM to noon, Eastern. Contact us first so the warehouse can pull your order.
Can I return it?
